Intrax is a truly global company with participants from more than 100 countries. We are devoted to fostering international understanding through cultural exchange and educational programs in the USA and abroad. Intrax headquarters is located in San Francisco, aided by a network of area directors and representatives all over the USA. In addition to running programs and offering expert advice in conjunction with Intrax offices in Berlin, Seoul, Tokyo, and Santiago de Chile, Intrax cooperates with partner organizations worldwide.

Intrax began as a provider of home-stay programmes for young people wanting to explore everyday American life. In 1982, the U.S. Department of State designated Intrax to sponsor the J1 visa for high school students on the Ayusa (Academic Year in the USA) high school exchange programme in the USA. Proving reliable, supportive and in compliance with J1 regulations towards international and domestic students, parents, schools, and other institutions, the U.S. Department of State extended J1 sponsorship to Intrax with regard to the Au pair programme in 1989, the Work & Travel programme in 1999 and the internship and trainee programmes in 2003.
